The Yankees have won 27 World Series in 40 apperences. Their most recent on was in 2009 against the Philadelphia Philles who won the World Series the year before. It was the Yankees first year in their new stadium. They won the World Series in six games. They won four games and only lost two during the World Series. The games they lost were the first game and the fifth game. They won the sixth game at home which gave them the World Series trophy for the 27th time.
